The open MRI is ideal for diagnosing the musculoskeletal system:
- Spine: herniated discs, spinal canal stenosis, degenerative changes
- Large joints: knee, shoulder, hip for osteoarthritis, sports injuries, meniscus tears
- Temporomandibular joints (TMJ): Discomfort, cracking, pain when chewing
- Hand and foot joints: ganglions, tendon sheath inflammation, fatigue fractures
You will be positioned comfortably and painlessly in the open MRI scanner.
PAIN THERAPY ON OPEN MRI (PRT)
Periradicular therapy (PRT) is a pain-free, radiation-free pain therapy using open MRI – without CT.
Under MRI control, cortisone is injected specifically into the irritated nerve root.
When does PRT help?

- Acute and chronic back pain
- Sciatica pain
- Spinal canal stenosis
Advantages: Radiation-free, precise, low-pain, outpatient. Success rate 60-80 %.

Ist das offene MRT bei Platzangst geeignet?
Ja. Das offene MRT ist besonders für Menschen mit Platzangst (Klaustrophobie) gedacht. Eine Begleitperson kann bei Ihnen bleiben, und eine Sedierung ist in der Regel nicht nötig.

Ist das offene MRT strahlenfrei?
Ja. Wie jedes MRT arbeitet auch das offene MRT mit Magnetfeldern statt Röntgenstrahlen und ist schmerzfrei.
Übernimmt die Krankenkasse die Kosten?
Bei Privatversicherten werden die Kosten in der Regel vollständig übernommen. Gesetzlich Versicherte können die Untersuchung als Selbstzahler in Anspruch nehmen; bei Klaustrophobie oder Übergewicht ist eine Kostenübernahme teilweise möglich.
