Around 10-15% of all patients suffer from claustrophobia. My open MRI offers:

HEAD MRI: MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

A head MRI is used for

Chronic headaches and migraines
Dizziness and balance disorders
Neurological abnormalities such as visual disturbances or numbness
Early detection of dementia
Clarification of tumors and vascular changes

Head MRI is much more comfortable and stress-free on an open MRI scanner.

SPINE, JOINTS & TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINTS

The open MRI is ideal for diagnosing the musculoskeletal system:

Spine: herniated discs, spinal canal stenosis, degenerative changes
Large joints: knee, shoulder, hip for osteoarthritis, sports injuries, meniscus tears
Temporomandibular joints (TMJ): Discomfort, cracking, pain when chewing
Hand and foot joints: ganglions, tendon sheath inflammation, fatigue fractures

You will be positioned comfortably and painlessly in the open MRI scanner.

PAIN THERAPY ON OPEN MRI (PRT)

Periradicular therapy (PRT) is a pain-free, radiation-free pain therapy using open MRI – without CT.

Under MRI control, cortisone is injected specifically into the irritated nerve root.

When does PRT help?

Herniated disc
Acute and chronic back pain
Sciatica pain
Spinal canal stenosis

Advantages: Radiation-free, precise, low-pain, outpatient. Success rate 60-80 %.

COSTS & APPOINTMENT REQUEST

MRI examinations in open MRI for private patients and self-payers (GOÄ).

PKV: Costs are usually covered in full.

GKV: Costs may be covered in the event of claustrophobia, obesity or restrictions.

PRT: covered by health insurance since 2014 (with referral from pain therapist).
