Around 10-15% of all patients suffer from claustrophobia. My open MRI offers:

A head MRI is used for

Head MRI is much more comfortable and stress-free on an open MRI scanner.

SPINE, JOINTS & TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINTS

The open MRI is ideal for diagnosing the musculoskeletal system:

Spine: herniated discs, spinal canal stenosis, degenerative changes
Large joints: knee, shoulder, hip for osteoarthritis, sports injuries, meniscus tears
Temporomandibular joints (TMJ): Discomfort, cracking, pain when chewing
Hand and foot joints: ganglions, tendon sheath inflammation, fatigue fractures

You will be positioned comfortably and painlessly in the open MRI scanner.

PAIN THERAPY ON OPEN MRI (PRT)

Periradicular therapy (PRT) is a pain-free, radiation-free pain therapy using open MRI – without CT.

Under MRI control, cortisone is injected specifically into the irritated nerve root.

Open MRI for claustrophobia and claustrophobia

About 10-15% of all patients suffer from claustrophobia in MRI. With open MRI, you no longer have to choose between your health and your well-being. An accompanying person can stay with you during the entire examination.

Periradicular therapy (PRT) using open MRI is a modern, radiation-free alternative to CT-guided pain therapy. Under MRI control, cortisone is injected specifically into the irritated nerve root. It is particularly effective for herniated discs, chronic back pain and nerve root irritation.

Costs and health insurance benefits

MRI examinations are a service for private patients and self-payers (GOÄ). If you suffer from claustrophobia, you can apply for the costs to be covered by statutory health insurance. PRT has been a statutory health insurance benefit again since 2014.
