More InformationCT SCANS IN DETAIL
What each test involves—and when they are appropriate.
Low-dose CT scan of the lungs
Low-dose CT of the lung enables effective lung cancer screening with significantly reduced radiation exposure. It is particularly suitable for high-risk patients (e.g. smokers, occupational exposure) and for monitoring the progress of unclear lung lesions. Other pulmonary issues such as emphysema, fibrosis or signs of inflammation can also be assessed.
Sinus CT scan
Paranasal sinus CT (NNH-CT) provides high-resolution images of the bony structures and mucous membranes. Common indications are chronic sinusitis, nasal polyps, deviated septum or preoperative planning prior to ENT surgery. The examination is low in radiation and only takes a few seconds.
CT of the Chest and Abdomen
A CT scan of the chest and abdomen allows for a quick and precise assessment of the lungs, mediastinum, abdominal organs, and pelvis. For many conditions (stones, calcifications, lung changes, bony structures), a native scan without contrast is already sufficiently informative. If necessary, I also perform the scan with contrast medium —for example, to evaluate space-occupying lesions, inflammation, or blood vessels. Targeted kidney stone CT (stone detection) is also performed with low radiation exposure and without contrast medium.
CT-guided pain therapy (PRT)
CT-guided periradicular therapy (PRT) enables the needle to be positioned with millimeter precision on the affected nerve root. Under CT control, an anti-inflammatory medication is injected specifically into the irritated area. Typical indications are herniated discs, spinal canal stenosis and chronic back pain.
COSTS & BILLING
CT scans for private patients and self-pay patients are billed according to the GOÄ. The specific costs depend on the area being scanned, whether contrast dye is used, and the complexity of the procedure. You can find a price guide above; I would be happy to provide you with an estimate of the expected costs when you request an appointment.

CT Diagnostics at Dr. Nicola Meyer’s Private Practice
At my private radiology practice, I offer state-of-the-art CT diagnostics using low-dose technology. Computed tomography provides precise cross-sectional images in just a few seconds—particularly valuable for issues involving bone structures, lung tissue, or CT-guided interventions. As a specialist in radiology and neuroradiology, I personally review every examination and discuss the results directly with you.
Which CT examinations are possible?
Our areas of expertise include low-dose CT scans of the lungs (lung cancer screening and evaluation of lung abnormalities), paranasal sinus CT, chest and abdominal CT, kidney stone CT (stone detection), and CT-guided pain therapy (PRT). The examinations are performed without contrast or—when medically indicated—with contrast.
Low radiation dose thanks to low-dose technology
State-of-the-art equipment and optimized examination protocols significantly reduce radiation exposure. Each examination is tailored to the specific clinical needs—in accordance with the principle of using as little radiation as possible, but as much as is necessary for a reliable diagnosis.
Procedure and Personal Assessment
You will be given an appointment at short notice and examined without a long wait. Most CT scans take only a few minutes. I will discuss the results with you personally; if you wish, I will forward them to your treating physician(s) promptly.
Costs and Billing
Billing is based on the German Scale of Medical Fees (GOÄ) for private patients and self-paying patients. You can find a transparent overview in the price list at the top of this page.
