Radiological second opinion for MRI in Hamburg
Have you had an MRI scan and feel uncertain about the diagnosis? You don’t understand your MRI findings or would like to obtain an independent radiological second opinion? As a specialist in radiology with additional training in neuroradiology, I can offer you a well-founded second opinion on your MRI images – explained clearly and with time for your questions.
My values: time for people, understandable explanations and the highest diagnostic quality. I take the time not only to check your findings, but also to explain what the results mean for you in an understandable way.
MY OFFER: RADIOLOGICAL SECOND OPINION
My focus is on the radiological second opinion of MRI images. Optionally, I also offer second opinions on CT and X-ray images.
Flexible options: On request, you can either receive a pure second opinion on the existing report or a complete new diagnosis of your image data. As a neuroradiologist, I specialize in imaging the brain, spine and nervous system – but I am also able to competently assess all other regions of the body.
FOR WHOM IS THE SECOND OPINION INTENDED?
Patients who feel uncertain about the diagnosis after an MRI or CT scan or do not understand their findings. People who have not yet received a diagnosis or an explanation and want clarity.
General practitioners and specialists who want an independent radiological second opinion for their patients – quickly, competently and clearly formulated.
You ask yourself: “I don’t understand my MRI findings” or “Uncertain after MRI – what does the result mean?” That’s exactly what I’m here for.
YOUR BENEFIT: CLARITY AND SECURITY
More clarity and certainty before making important treatment decisions – that is the greatest added value of a radiological second opinion.
Independent assessment: As a specialist with no commercial interest in the subsequent treatment, I will give you an objective, specialist assessment.
Comprehensible explanation: Findings and technical terms are not just “translated”, but explained in such a way that you really understand what is going on in your body.
Empathetic approach: You and your concerns are taken seriously. I take time for your questions and concerns.
HOW THE SECOND OPINION WORKS
Step 1: Organize image data
Obtain your MRI images on CD from the radiologist as well as existing findings and doctor’s letters.
Step 2: Send documents
Send your documents by e-mail to mail@drnicolameyer.de (images as attachments or links). Alternatively, you can upload your images to WeTransfer and send the download link to my e-mail address.
Step 3: Second opinion
I check your documents, prepare a well-founded second opinion and draw up a comprehensible written report.
Step 4: Personal explanation (optional)
If you wish, we can discuss the findings over the phone or in person at the practice so that all your questions are answered.
IMPORTANT NOTES ON SECONDARY DIAGNOSIS
Image quality: The quality of my second opinion depends largely on the quality of your images. If sequences are missing or the image quality is inadequate, I will give you a clear recommendation for additional examinations.
Limits of the second opinion: Please note that this service is not an emergency service and is not intended for acute, life-threatening situations. The second opinion does not replace a personal examination and treatment by a doctor on site.
Data protection and confidentiality: Your medical data will of course be treated confidentially. Patient-related data is stored securely and deleted in accordance with legal requirements once the diagnosis has been completed. Please only send sensitive data via the specified channels (e-mail or WeTransfer) and avoid unsecured cloud links.
COSTS AND PROCESSING TIME
Transparent costs: The costs for an MRI second opinion depend on the scope of the examination. The price includes: Analysis of your image data, written findings report and a brief explanation of the results.
Reimbursement: Privately insured persons can usually submit the costs to their insurance company. For those with statutory insurance, this is a self-pay service (IGeL).
Processing time: As a rule, you will receive your second opinion shortly after receipt of the complete documentation. The form of feedback is a written report, with a personal discussion on request.
